About Us

Hi, we’re Claire and Neil.  We are new home owners, pet parents, and diy enthusiasts.

Neil is originally from Athens, Georgia and we met through mutual friends while I was finishing up at The University of Georgia.  Two years later we moved back to my hometown in Norfolk, Virginia.

We decided to start this blog as a way to document all of the projects that are going on in our new home.  From the moment we walked in we have had a vision on what it will look like.  How that plan will come together and how we end up getting there is something we’re still figuring out.

The plan is to update you each week on our progress complete with before photos, materials we used, and  of course the end result.  You are sure to see projects from our kitchen renovation, vegetable garden, porch makeover, and furniture rehab.  Rescue pups, Hampton and Lily, will provide supervison along the way.

Fun Facts About Us

Our Style: Eclectic

Inspiration: Anything colorful and bright

Best DIY Project So Far: Restoring an antique buffet from my Great Aunt’s house.

Favorite Find: We found an amazing 9-foot long table that fits in perfectly with the charm and character of the house.  It feels fresh because of its’ unusually narrow 3-foot width and we played up the shape with lucite chairs to make the table the star of the room.

Just Some Housekeeping

Keeping things fun around here is our goal and we want you to enjoy our home as much as we do.  We are so looking forward to getting to know you and sharing renovation projects.  Any comments or messages that aren’t in the same spirit may be deleted, this includes anything offensive, spammy, or inappropriate.  We would love to hear from you, so please know that we would never share your information with a third-party.

Unless otherwise credited, all photography on the site is taken by us so please give credit or link back to us if you would like to use any photos.  All photos and projects are completed by us unless otherwise credited.  We know you are just as invested in your own projects as we are, so we only write about or link to products or brands we would use in our own home.

We look forward to hearing from you!
