The seventies have left the building! We’re not sad to see it go, unwelcome houseguests and all. We set our sights on painting the walls after finishing up the staircase last week . Our foyer was still full on crazy lady from all the swatches we tested. We painted the walls the palest cloud grey, it has just enough warm tones to contrast the white trim and will be the perfect backdrop to our colorful runner.
The color is Intense White by Benjamin Moore. We were inspired from a living room post on Yellow Brick Home (this blog is awesome, check it out). Like their project, we also had our paint color matched to Valspar. We’ve used it in the past and like the results, why mess with a good thing.
After filling in some stray holes in the walls and removing what looked like freezer tape from some past patch jobs I cut in around the trim and Neil rolled on a coat of the grey. It normally takes two, but for whatever reason this covered on the first try.
After we put up the crown molding to cover some electrical work, we’ll be ready to knock out this room by removing the carpet and putting in the finishing touches.
Also next Saturday is part one of fence day! Engineer Dad has been hard at work planning for a fence in the backyard for the dogs. They will love being able to run around outside during the day so we’re excited to get this project kicked off by setting the posts and rails.
Major waffle-ing is happening with the runner for the stairs. Check out our pinterest page and tell us which one you would choose in the comments!
